Cheap Ramadan Umrah? Difference between Hajj and Umrah: Both seem similar in the start. Umrah can be performed in less than a few hours while Hajj is more time consuming, and involves more rituals. The pilgrimage, conducted over five days, includes numerous detailed rituals including wearing a special garment that symbolizes human equality and unity before God, a circular, counter-clockwise procession around the Kaaba, and the symbolic stoning of evil. Kaaba (Ka’bah), a cube-shaped structure draped in black silk, is the most sacred shrine of Islam and the chief goal of the pilgrimage.

Different forms of performing Hajj: There are various methods of performing Hajj that can be classified into three categories: Hajj-e-Tamattu: Hajj combined with Umrah with two Niya’hs, one for Umrah and second for Hajj. Pilgrims wear separate Ihram for each Umrah and Hajj. Animal sacrifice is compulsory. Hajj-e-Qiran: Hajj combined with umrah with one Niya’h. Pilgrims remain in the state of Ihram after Sa’ee. The sacrifice of an animal is compulsory. Hajj-e-Ifrad: Hajj without Umrah. Animal sacrifice is optional. While all the forms of Hajj are rewarded by Allah Almighty, the most recommended method to perform Hajj by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is Hajj-e-Tammattu, which requires pilgrims to perform Hajj during the months of Hajj i.e., Shawaal, Dhul Qa’dah and Dhul Hijjah. They also perform Hajj in the same year with an animal slaughter on Eid-ul-Adha. It involves Tawaf and Sa’ee to be done twice, once for Hajj and once for umrah.

The Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be undertaken at any time of the year. Umrah is not considered as compulsory as Hajj, but it is highly recommended in Islam. There are two different types of Umrah. Umrah can be combined with the Hajj (called Umrat al-tammatu) or taken independently of the Hajj (called al-Umrat al mufradah). Umrah was suspended in 2020 due to fears over the coronavirus disease (COVID19) spreading. In September 2020, the Ministry of Hajj & Umrah in Saudi Arabia announced that Umrah will gradually be recommenced from 04th October 2020; initially for pilgrims residing inside Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims from outside the country will be able to perform Umrah starting from 1st November 2020 based on a phased approach. Find additional information on https://www.labbaikhajjumrah.co.uk/.
